Origins

I was born and raised in Sheffield, Pennsylvania, a small town in the heart of the Allegheny National Forest that nobody has ever heard of (and if you say you have, I know you’re lying). A truly beautiful place.

The Photography Bug

I've always had a love for photography and I’ve had too many little point and shoot cameras to count. But in 2010, I got my first "real" camera, a Canon EOS Rebel T1i!

I started out with a kit lens, like most do, and it wasn't long before I had a collection of lenses, flashes, filters, tripods, camera bags, and all of the other junk that came along with it.

Then Came Scuba

A good friend of mine suggested that I get scuba certified so that we could become dives buddies. I thought it sounded fun but I wasn't very serious about following through with it. That is, not until his wife sent me a link to Groupon for open water certification. (Thanks Leo and Sondra!)

Combining the Two

Less than six months after I received my open water certification, I started dragging a camera underwater with me and well, I've been broke ever since!

I kid, I kid. It wasn't until a few years later when I started technical diving that all of my money really vanished ...

But Diving is Life!

Sorry, that was long … But there is nothing that I'm more passionate about and there is no time that I feel more alive than when I'm beneath the waves with a camera in my hands.
